Day 46 – Pembrokeshire Coast – Fishguard to Newport

Day 46: Fishguard to Newport

Here’s another new word for you: catchdown. It’s where I am back to stopping over where I had planned, just a day late. But what’s late? There is no late. You just do what your body tells you – and I needed a shortish day after a tough day yesterday in warm conditions to Trefin.

I dawdled today. Had I crunched out my normal pace, I’d have been at Newport by lunchtime. But I watched a family of Canada geese in a small bay, chatted with loads of people – I need a story card now – and ambled into camp at four. Especially enjoyed meeting Dick and Sally from Canada and Brian and Judith from Lancs. Enjoy your time folks.

A visit to the Spar shop and I’m now chilled out in the sun by the tent with a San Miguel. Adventure ain’t all tough, but you have to endure the hard bits to get the rewards.

Hard day to St. Dogs tomorrow and that’s the magnificent Pembrokeshire Coast Path complete. Bite-sized pieces …
