Day 17 – Brixham to Stoke Fleming

A deliberate short hop in the face of a repeat of last night’s weather. Winds already up and heavy rain coming in waves so I hunkered down early by plan.

Enjoyed the ferry to Dartmouth and walk out to the castle early. But my coffee in Dartmouth’s Station Café by the ferry pontoon was terrible – the man seemed more intent on polishing stuff than giving service, and there’s no excuse for poor coffee.

I’m a day and a bit behind now, but weather is what it is; I just need to respond sensibly and safely.

Hi Ken. Well the high winds and driving rain are certainly challenging for you right now. Do hope things will become more settled soon. Like many others, am following your daily accounts with great interest. Seems most days are throwing up something unexpected to work around so it`s good to hear of the intermittent goodwill from people you`ve encountered. Little things really can mean such a lot! Stay safe, strong and resolute. You`re doing just great. Sleep tight. Heath.
