Day 48/49 – Cardigan to Cwmtydu
The trials of being back on the trail. Everything hurt today: feet (heels esp), right knee (old), hips (rucksack on again), elbow (pole slipped), eyes (pollen), head (hangover from bus journey). And it was a slight blip in planning that I had 1200m of ascent on my first day out, which also was the hottest and muggiest day of the entire journey so far …
So a tough but spectacular day, which included a paddle at Llangranniog and the ‘Path of Doom’ over to Cwmtydu – a slanting rise cut into the cliffs, for which there were warnings of exposure and no escape!
Sunrise over Mwnt, though, was worth every other minute. I love it here, and it was at the Mwnt in 2009 where thoughts of this crazy walk rekindled.
Tomorrow on past New Quay and Aberaeron, hopefully rested and replenished.
